Are Online Spanish Courses Better Than Classroom Lessons?

Online Spanish courses are everywhere online and what this means is that there is a high demand for them. Online Spanish courses have become a very popular way to learn Spanish, but how do they fair in comparison to learning Spanish in a classroom environment?

The main benefit of online Spanish courses are their accessibility, it doesn’t matter where you are, as long as you are able to connect to the internet you can have access to a course.

However, if you wanted to take Spanish in a class you may have difficulty if the nearest classes are miles away, plus you have to adhere to their timetable…not your own, as is the case with online Spanish courses.

Interaction is a difficult one for online Spanish courses, although some online Spanish courses provide real time conversational facilities, most do not, and a classroom setting is ideal for this with a number of different students to bounce off, as well as, in most cases, a native Spanish speaking tutor.

Interaction is an integral part of learning languages as it is extremely beneficial in grasping the workings of a language. However, just because a specific online Spanish course doesn’t provide this interaction, it doesn’t mean you cannot get it online as there are many chat rooms and groups that you can use to gain this much needed means of practice.

Does the course suit you? There are many factors that come into play when answering this question, we have touched on one which is flexibility but there are many others. Does the course address your learning needs? Is it teaching the correct level of Spanish for you? Is the teaching method helpful or do you struggle to learn? These are all worthy questions and in fairness both online Spanish courses and classroom courses could be deemed good or bad on each of these points, it depends greatly on the individual and the specific course.

Online Spanish Courses and Classroom Courses – Costs?

Price is a big factor in which type of learning method is used, you can get both online Spanish courses and classroom courses for free but in both cases they are never going to be any where near as comprehensive, or as good as a ‘paid for’ course.

When working out which is most cost effective you need to factor in the costs of getting to your classes, an internet connection and any other extra costs that are outside of the initial course cost. Generally, online Spanish courses are considerably cheaper than paying for a place in a Spanish class.

Online Spanish Courses and Classroom Courses – Learning Materials?

Which provides you with the most teaching aids? Without a doubt studying Spanish online and having access to the internet means that anything you need is a click of your mouse away, even getting answers to your questions can be done almost instantly, whereas if you are studying in a class, even one that provides everything you need, you will still have to wait until your next class before you can get your hands on what you need or get your questions answered!

Online Spanish Courses and Classroom Courses – The Verdict?

Both online Spanish courses and classroom lessons have their rightful place in the educational scheme of things, and the popularity of online Spanish courses reflects the type of lifestyle that many people now have; flexibility is the key and this is unfortunately where the traditional evening class is falling behind. The most important factor when learning Spanish is to feel relaxed when doing so and to enjoy the experience and for that to happen you must decide which type of course offers that in your case.

Why not do them both!

I would personally recommend online Spanish courses over classroom courses, and I have checked out quite a few of them, and one in particular that I would highly recommend checking out is called Rocket Spanish, check out the link below.
